Good vibes from Tyre's! I went in for the 2nd oil change for my 2017 CR-V. Very clean waiting area/restroom with charging cables, coffee, comfy seating...although the waiting area did smell like it was an area that allowed smoking once upon a time. As an asthmatic with particularly sensitive lungs, this drove me out of the waiting area. Caveat: I'm particularly sensitive to fumes and cigarette smoke, so I don't think this would necessarily bother most people..just something to note. There's a coffee shop about a 5 minute walk from Tyre's which was perfect and I waited for them to finish up my car there. Everyone at Tyre's was friendly. The person who scheduled my appointment remembered me when I walked in and that was nice. I'd really like to give 5 stars, because I truly believe that the Tyre's crew are good at their jobs, trustworthy, and are NOT in the business of ripping people off. However, there were a few issues with what should've been a fairly routine visit. 1) I specified on the phone exactly what maintenance check was due for my vehicle. After having waited for about 35 minutes or so, I was told that they "forgot" that this maintenance check required a certain part and that on an ordinary day they could have the part to the store in short order, but due to heavy traffic (which was true) they weren't sure how quickly they could get the part and didn't want me to have to wait for several hours. They recommended that I come back at another time to get that done. 2) They left the air cap off of one of my tires. Hours after leaving the shop and heading to dinner, the "Tire Pressure Low" signal came appeared on my dashboard. The next morning I took my vehicle to a local tire shop (Mr. Tire Auto Service Center) who replaced the air cap, refilled my tires, and reset the tire pressure system all for free. The tire pressure wasn't dangerously low and it wasn't as though I was on the verge of having a blow out or flat tire, nevertheless, it was still something that I had to address that should've been taken care of during the maintenance check. While they definitely kept me informed of any additional services before performing them, it still ended up being about $40 more than they quoted me on the phone, after the first-time customer discount, and before the engine air filter that they didn't have on-site for which I'll have to schedule another appointment and pay additionally. However, I really do dig the honest vibes and good nature from Tyre's. Every customer who came in they treated respectfully and seemed genuinely interested in helping to fix whatever was going on with their vehicle and for a fair price. As a newcomer to the Maryland area and still trying to find a steady mechanic, their customer service was encouraging and refreshing. I would recommend them =)
